KNALLROT (ITALY)

We were captivated from the very beginning. TPZ Knallrot’s entrance was very strong, the tension in their bodies paired with the lighting/music perfectly to set the tone of the play. 

The storytelling with the body was spot on, and a constant throughout the play. This made it accessible and enjoyable to watch. The creation of the carriage and the corset pulling scene was cleverly executed alongside dialogue. Each actor understood their characters and it was enjoyable to watch them make clear decisions. Some of the comedic timing was spot on like the echo gag and exaggerated pauses. We loved the idea to use the full space like using the rigging to climb and the space between the characters always felt intentional.

The scene changes were seamless and it was very beneficial to have such a clear difference between the two worlds, not just in atmosphere but in how the characters move.

The direction was very clear and clever from start to finish. The shift from the wedding prep scene into the contrasting wedding moments were beautiful.

All in all the cast and creatives should be very proud of this production.
