The British are leaving - Schüleraufführung

Sehr geehrte Lehrpersonen,

alle zwei Jahre findet das Internationale Treffen für Jugendtheater sapperlot statt. Zu unseren Stammgästen zählen inzwischen die beiden englischen Jugendtheatergruppen Central Youth Theatre aus Wolverhamptin und Theatretrain aus Waltham. Beide Gruppen arbeiten höchst professionell und ihre Stücke bestechen durch typisch englische Komik.

Damit auch Jugendliche, die nicht zu unseren Theaterspieler*innen zählen, von der Möglichkeit profitieren können, mit Nativ-Speakern in Kontakt zu kommen, würden wir die beiden Aufführung so legen, dass sie von Schulen besucht werden können.

BREXIT – it’s happening!  It might be!  It might not be!

Who knows if we will have left by the time this show description goes to print! 

Or by the time Sapperlot is happening!

Or by 2050, or by infinity and beyond!

Are the answers in the hands of the European parliament?  Our prime-minister? The British parliament?  The man shouting outside the parliament building?  Or is foreign influence corrupting our politics -  the Russians - Trump – the prime-minister of Mongolia (Who the hell is that?) they could all be involved.

Our show aims to provide all the answers!  Well possibly!  Maybe! Probably not!

Is it a farce?  Is it a tragic comedy? Is it a drama?  Does anyone care?

Central Youth Theatre will be at the festival (unless we get turned away at the border with our new British Visas) and we will confuse you even more!
