WORKSHOPS
Writing Peace with Heidi
To feel peace is a privilege. It's power, it's strength. Peace can come from a children's laughter or from the waves of the ocean. Peace can also be the light from a big fury. Heidi's workshop taught us how something just as simple as your five senses can be used to create a story. We looked at how peace looks like for us, what sounds it may make and how peace can make us feel. What superpower would you have to create peace? What does peace look like to you? Is peace materialistic for you, maybe a food or a place? Peace can mean something completely different for everyone. The important thing to remember is that peace is not one thing only, it can be multiple things. For some it's the sun, for some the ocean and for some as simple as an umbrella. Theatre is a way to step out of your comfort zone, to have the light from a dark storm. Where is this peace and how does it look to you?

Fast Improv with Jonathan
I participated in Jonathan’s Fast Improv workshop. The whole workshop flowed really well and we created a nice atmosphere. I loved the fact that the workshop was based on making sounds rather than using words. An exercise I will remember (and take away) is the 1,2,3 exercise where in pairs you make a conversation. It was super fun to creating stories with this.

Stop Motion with Tadeáš
The stop motion Workshop of Tadeáš from the Czech Republic was really fun! After a quite relaxing beginning we got shown the am app which is really easy to handle and then we were able to just make some nice stuff. At first we did some stop motion videos with paper and pens and then with people acting in it. A nice way to start into the day with something creative. It was really interesting to see different styles of stop motion and of course what the other groups made. Everything had its own style and was fun to watch. I'll remember the whole stuff we did. I'll leave the app on my phone and will probably use it to make more stuff.

Playwriting without inspiration with Kaat
What if I want to write a creative text but I don’t know what to write about? When inspiration is missing?
Kaat from Belgium showed us how to write a little play, even when not feeling inspired. She is currently studying playwriting at university and that’s where she learned that inspiration doesn’t really exist, that it can come from anything. In the Workshop “Playwriting without inspiration”, she shared this knowledge and some exercises to get ideas with us.
We learned to not waste time thinking that we need to wait for a spark to be inspired. Inspiration can come from anything. There’s no excuse to not start writing because of no ideas. Look at something in the room and start writing down your thoughts and associations and you already have a text to work with. This is also what we did in the workshop. At the beginning, we did some word association games, just saying any word that comes to your mind. Then we sat down for ten minutes writing down anything that came to our mind and finally we took the parts we liked most and used them to write a short play. These exercises showed us that inspiration lies everywhere. It was nice to see that we all had totally different outcomes that reached from an experiment comparing a scripted dialogue with an improvised dialogue over scenes with 3 to 5 actresses to dialogues in pairs.
The workshop was really interesting and I believe that every one of us found something new to take with them.

Physical Performance, no words just fun with Pernille
I participated in Pernille‘s workshop about physical theatre. The workshop was really fun and relaxing. As the title of the workshop said, we really had fun! We did many different kinds of physical exercises. The whole group was awesome and doing things together was so easy! I want to take exercises we did home with me and do them with my group. I think the workshop was really whimsical!

Life, Emotion, Drama: Feel it, Play it. with Ana
I really enjoyed it. It was a bit slow getting into, while everyone was shy but by the end of it we had come together to create the last exercise. From what I gathered the workshop was about learning theatre games to enhance performance and showing us games from Romania that we can add to our skillset which I found so interesting, because some games I have done were similar but it was amazing to see the difference each country brings to them. A great workshop for full involvement. The workshop was taught by Ana from Romania and I want to remember the path game where we had to create a path for a person out of the room and then say hot and cold for the ways they were going to get to the end position, because it’s a great game to bond people and get them start conversations.
