Demut vor deinen Taten Baby
TW ZINNOBER
ZINNOBER left us speechless after their performance full of energy and incredible acting. But before we get into what an amazing job they did, I would like to explain the story a little.
It all starts in the airport bathroom, where three strangers are victims of, what seems to be, a terrorist attack. Of course the girls are terrified, but in the end it’s a false alarm. They feel such an immense relief, that they want to spread this feeling of gratitude and happiness in the world. So the three become friends and start to initiate fake terrorist attacks, which are a huge success. For a while they operate independently, but eventually they get support from the government, which profits from the aftermath of the attacks for a while. But if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. The government rows back again. “We live in a system that only works if everyone follows the rules”, they say, and they demand one last "serious" coup, in which the women in the end they kill each other, by accident.
It truly was a one of a kind experience and I, personally, thought it was quite clever how they split each character in two parts and still merged together as one. Even though it is a tragic topic, it was strangely up beat and funny - even if the not German speaking audience unfortunately couldn't understand all the puns hidden in the play - I especially loved the horse that is the only one crying for one of the women. The music, the choreographies and the acting in general were very well executed, and your effort really paid off, ZINNOBER!
Thank you girls for opening the festival with your performance.
