Das Heim der Hoffnung
Theaterwerkstatt KNALLROT
The Applause was overwhelming, just like the story.
Set in 1943 in Warsaw ghetto, the play followed the young girl Ada, a Jewish orphan, to find and then lose her friends. Those friends were her new found family in the orphanage of Korczak, they were friends who eventually protected her from the Nazis and saved her life even if they lost theirs.
The group KNALLROT from the TPZ portrayed all these characters in an incredibly authentic way, and the emotions they portrayed were very sincere. The stage picture was incredible, beautiful, breathtaking and very original – the shadow-theatre was the highlight (pun intended) and was used in a very creative way. The costumes were very time-fitting and allowed the audience to get caught in the story even more.
Dear KNALLROTs (and Magda & Heidi), you really surprised us with this play, brought us to tears and showed us (again), what a great group you are. Keep up the amazing work!
