International Meeting of Youth Theatre

What is sapperlot?

The International Youth Theatre Meeting SAPPERLOT is one thing above all: a feast. We invite ensembles from all over the world to join us in celebrating youth theatre. We are happy when the International Meeting of Youth Theatre SAPPERLOT manages to overcome linguistic, cultural and other borders and communicate through the language of theatre, that we learn new things and question what we have learned in the past, get new inspiration and above all make friends.On stage are young people between 15 and 25 who are open to thinking about their own work and about other forms of theatre.

Workshops and other activities will give participants the opportunity to get in touch with other young people, exchange ideas and learn from each other, and there will be many activities to do so.

SAPPERLOT is organised by the young members of the theatre groups at TPZ Brixen - in that sense, it is a real youth festival. The special atmosphere at SAPPERLOT is created because all participating groups work together to make it unforgettable.

Was ist das sapperlot?

Das Internationale Jugendtheatertreffen SAPPERLOT ist vor allem eines: ein Fest. Wir laden Ensembles aus der ganzen Welt ein, mit uns das Jugendtheater zu feiern. Wir wünschen uns, dass es uns gelingt, sprachliche, kulturelle und andere Grenzen zu überwinden und durch die Sprache des Theaters zu kommunizieren, dass wir Neues lernen und bisher Gelerntes infrage stellen, neue Inspiration bekommen und vor allem Freundschaften schließen. Auf der Bühne stehen Jugendliche zwischen 15 und 25 Jahren, die offen dafür sind, über ihre eigene Arbeit und über andere Formen des Theaters nachzudenken.

In Workshops und anderen Aktivitäten haben die Teilnehmer die Möglichkeit, mit anderen Jugendlichen in Kontakt zu treten, Ideen auszutauschen und voneinander zu lernen.

SAPPERLOT wird von den jungen Mitgliedern der Theatergruppen am TPZ Brixen organisiert - in diesem Sinne ist es ein echtes Jugendfestival. Die besondere Atmosphäre bei SAPPERLOT entsteht, weil alle teilnehmenden Gruppen zusammenarbeiten, um es unvergesslich zu machen.

Costs

We cover

all parts of the programme - daily meals (3 meals/day) and accommodation for participants in host families or a youth hostel, according to the registration form received - only during the festival days.

NOTE: The organisation of a festival is time-consuming, spontaneous decisions of the participating groups may not be able to be taken into account. From a tourist point of view, it is always high season in Brixen, hotels and hostels are often booked out well in advance.

Arrival and departure should therefore be organised as early as possible, then we can help with the reservation of additional days. The expenses for this are to be paid by the participant groups themselves.

Expenses to cover by the participants

The participant groups will bear their own travel expenses to Brixen and back as well as the costs for additional members if there are more than 14 people (12 players and 2 accompanying persons).

The participant groups also bear the expenses for extra days, i.e. if they arrive earlier in Brixen or leave later. Once again, such extra days must be notified as early as possible, otherwise we cannot guarantee that we will get the rooms.

Kosten und Finanzen

Wir übernehmen

alle Teile des Programms - tägliche Mahlzeiten (3 Mahlzeiten/Tag) und die Unterbringung der Teilnehmer in Gastfamilien oder einer Jugendherberge, entsprechend dem erhaltenen Anmeldeformular - nur während der Festivaltage.

HINWEIS: Die Organisation eines Festivals ist zeitaufwändig, spontane Entscheidungen der teilnehmenden Gruppen können möglicherweise nicht berücksichtigt werden. Aus touristischer Sicht ist in Brixen immer Hochsaison, Hotels und Herbergen sind oft schon lange im Voraus ausgebucht.

Die An- und Abreise sollte daher so früh wie möglich organisiert werden, dann können wir bei der Reservierung zusätzlicher Tage helfen. Die Kosten hierfür sind von den Teilnehmergruppen selbst zu tragen.

Kosten, die von den Teilnehmern zu tragen sind

Die Teilnehmergruppen tragen ihre eigenen Reisekosten nach Brixen und zurück sowie die Kosten für zusätzliche Mitglieder, wenn es mehr als 14 Personen sind (12 Spieler und 2 Begleitpersonen).

Die Teilnehmergruppen tragen auch die Kosten für zusätzliche Tage, d.h. wenn sie früher in Brixen ankommen oder später abreisen. Auch hier gilt, dass solche zusätzlichen Tage so früh wie möglich angemeldet werden müssen, da wir sonst nicht garantieren können, dass wir die Zimmer bekommen.

General rules

Participating groups present theatre pieces with a visual character that are understandable for an international audience (not text-based) in a duration not longer than 60 minutes.

The groups apply with plays that have already been performed in their places of origin.

Each group will be given a preparation time of one hour before the start of the performance. No further rehearsal or preparation time is foreseen.

Neither groups nor players or directors receive any payment for the performance of their play.

Groups agree to actively participate in all events within the festival.

Allgemeine Regeln

Die teilnehmenden Gruppen zeigen Theaterstücke mit visuellem Charakter, die für ein internationales Publikum verständlich sind (nicht textbasiert) in einer Dauer nicht länger als 60 Minuten.

Die Gruppen bewerben sich mit Stücken, die an ihren Herkunftsorten bereits aufgeführt wurden.

Jede Gruppe erhält eine Vorbereitungszeit von einer Stunde vor Beginn der Aufführung. Weitere Proben- und Vorbereitungszeiten sind nicht vorgesehen.

Weder Gruppen, noch Spieler oder Regisseure erhalten ein Entgelt für die Aufführung ihres Stücks.

Die Gruppen verpflichten sich, an allen Veranstaltungen innerhalb des Festivals aktiv teilzunehmen.

Special:

Parallel zum Festival fand das Symposium zum Thema "Qualitätskriterien im Kinder- und Jugendtheater" mit Referaten von Felix Rellstab (CH), Luis Benedikter, Monika Bonell und Maria Mayer Szilagyi (H) statt. Die Erkenntnisse aus diesem Symposium wurden in einer Broschüre festgehalten.

In verschiedenen Workshops mit Georg Kaser (Commedia dell'Arte), Isabella Rohrbacher (Impro-Spiele), Elfi Troi (Contact Improvisation), Sigrid Seberich und Ahmet Avkiran (Clownerei), Agi Öttl (Experimentieren mit Rhythmus und Stimme), Alex Hofer (High motion, slow motion), Herbert Rainer (Improvisation mit Körper und Stimme) und Ingrid Porzner (Emotion Games) konnten die TeilnehmerInnen ihre schauspielerischen Fähigkeiten erweitern.

Eine internationale Jury, bestehend aus Felix Rellstab (CH), Paola Soccio (I) und Georg Mittendrein (Österreich) vergab den Preis an die Theaterwerkstatt BLAU des TPZ Brixen.
